About us

Emeline and Klaus started The Schulz Foundation in 2017 to formalize our Thanksgiving Brunch and support the local community in Miami. But the journey didn’t start there.

Since the early 1970s, Klaus has engaged in local community support, Emergency management, Disaster Recovery, food distribution, support for disabled and disadvantaged individuals, support for elderly and nursing homes, and volunteering in hospitals and emergency rooms/ICUs.

Emeline also started early. She created the Month of May, a local Haitian Heritage celebration inaugurated in 2000. The initiative celebrated the culture and heritage of Haitian Americans through various activities and programs, such as artists, singers, food, and art shows. This event has spread far beyond the borders of Miami and was adopted by other cultures.

Klaus and Emeline combined their effort and enthusiasm by starting the Thanksgiving Brunch 2006 in Miami. What began with 70 people has now grown into an operation hosting up to 700 people in three locations and delivering food to around 150 homebound individuals.

Based on the combined history and experience, the ideas for additional support are endless, and the need is high.

The real journey has just begun.
